Studies across a 15-year span have reported on visually impaired students limited understanding of their eye condition. Knowledge of eye anatomy, the eye condition, and its impact on functioning is an essential part of self-determination and an employability skill for students with visual impairments. This presentation describes a sequence of communicative skills for doctors and clinicians to develop an increased student knowledge of and confidence in describing their eye condition and visual skills. |
