In order to provide one-on-one instructional support to students who are deaf-blind, interveners need specialized skills related to deaf-blindness and appropriate supervision and support from the IEP team. This training is for those individuals who are newly assigned as an intervener, one-on-one paraprofessionals, and/or current interveners who have not yet attended this introductory training. Each intervener should attend with a professional member of the educational team (ideally a classroom teacher, a teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing, a teacher for students with visual impairments, or another professional regularly involved with the student). |
