Our classrooms are becoming digital learning environments, including e-books, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations. With a little knowledge, everyone can learn how to create digital materials that are accessible for all students, including students with visual impairments and blindness.In this two-day hands-on workshop, educators will learn the basics of how an accessible Word document can be navigated using VoiceOver. Participants will create robust accessible Word documents using quality image descriptions, accessible tables, and more. Participants will learn about the best practices for creating PowerPoint presentations for students with low vision and for students who are blind.Participants will also delve deeply into how to create exciting interactive digital books that can include pictures, videos, music, sounds and quizzes. This is a hands-on training bring your current student assignments and be ready to convert these assignments into accessible iBooks! iBooks are for everyone including students with CVI, student with multiple disabilities, emerging braille readers and academic high school students. |
