An approach will be presented with the objective of improving learning efficiency in blind and visually impaired students. Programs and activities will be presented that include a hands on approach to integrate reflexes and impact movement patterns in a way that leads to improved motor development. This approach leads to more efficient learning, stress reduction and improves overall function. Participants will learn to: 1. Assess the learning needs of students with visual impairments focusing on the child s visual, auditory and kinesthetic processing.2. Develop a program to meet students visual, auditory and kinesthetic processing, thereby improving the students learning efficiency.3. Evaluate and modify the sensory program in incremental steps as learning is observed.4. Utilize a variety of visual, auditory and kinesthetic programs and modify them based on the child s developmental level and needs. |
