Description of CE Program/Activity
Case Documentation Training: As employees of a Massachusetts (MA) Health & Human Services agency, our work is defined by some general law, some Commonwealth of MA regulations, (CMR s), and the MA Commission for the Blind s Mission Statement. Our use of case documentation is a way to confirm that we are serving our consumers as we should be serving them. It is also a useful tool to determine how we may need to act further to improve the quality of life for those people who need and seek our assistance. And yes, it is through case documentation that we record our many success stories. This presentation will provide participants with an opportunity to:1)Review examples that demonstrate what is acceptable and what is unacceptable writing in case documentation2)Discuss the elements that must be included to write an acceptable case document, and why these elements are required3)Understand the importance of effective note-taking to be used in writing case documentsWhile the content of a case document is important, so is the quality of the writing involved. A review of the most commonly made errors in business writing will also be presented for participants to assess for themselves where they may need to make corrections in their written documents.
