Topics will include information on using the Building on Patterns Literacy Curriculum from the American Printing House for the Blind. Participants will gain information about how BOP fits into a reading and writing curriculum. Locating key resources within the BOP curriculum will also be discussed.The topic of Literacy Media Assessment will also be discussed. Participants will be able to explain the importance of ongoing, consistent data collection that informs decisions about literacy media. Participants will also be able to demonstrate the ability to collect data regarding a students use of sensory information, reading and writing development and access to a full range of resources in a literacy toolbox. Participants will be able to apply the principles of diagnostic teaching in the context of learning media assessment. |
