Students who are transitioning from print to braille or who are beginning braille as a second medium need specific instruction. This session will review assessment tools used for determining where to begin instruction and measuring progress. In addition, instructional strategies used with print students who are transitioning to braille will be discussed. Strategies used to introduce braille as a tactile code will be addressed as well as ways to introduce braille as a secondary medium for middle and high school students. |
