FACILITATORS: KSSB Field Services Staff and all participants attending. AUDIENCE: Any teacher of the visually impaired (or teacher in training), orientation and mobility instructor, or paraprofessional working with a student with a visual impairment. DESCRIPTION: This meeting is designed for vision professionals to collaborate and participate in professional development activities with other teachers of the visually impaired or orientation and mobility specialists in the area. In addition, this meeting provides an opportunity for vision professionals in Kansas to seek technical assistance and support from the KSSB Field Services Department. TOPIC: The first meeting will focus on getting together to create goals for the group, discuss current trends in the field of visual impairment, seek technical assistance from members of the group, and learn about current and new programs for students with visual impairment in the regional area. There will be some time to share topics or trends in the field so please bring questions. |
