This annual conference sponsored by the Arizona chapter of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired offers lectures, panels, workshops, and discussions on visual impairment-related education, orientation and mobility, rehabilitation and adult services, and other topics in the blindness and visual impairment field. It features a keynote speaker and 5 breakout sessions with 3 speakers per breakout. Vendors are invited to introduce their products and networking/collaborative opportunities are provided throughout the conference. Specific topics include challenges in the field, adjusting to blindness, routine-based early intervention, learning braille using technology, orientation and mobility training, early communication and literacy routines, use of Google Apps, International Mobility Conference, education for students with multiple disabilities, literary and math topics related to Unified English Braille, history of visual impairment education in Arizona, Cane Quest, 3D printed materials, rehabilitation services, student transition, and team collaboration. |
