This 3-day conference is the annual state-wide training for Georgia vision educators, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Education in partnership with the Georgia Academy for the Blind, the Georgia Instructional Materials Center, the Georgia Sensory Assistance Project and the Smokey Powell Assistive Technology Center. The conference will be held at the Georgia Academy for the Blind in Macon, GA, October 21-23, 2015. The focus of this year s conference is Transitions. We want to discuss all sorts of transitions in the life of a person with a visual impairment: transition from early childhood into school, transition from high school to college or work, and other transitions along the way: transitions from print to Braille, transitions to new technology, transition to adult services. There will also be sessions on popular APH transition materials, O&M, and successful transition programs and practices |
