This 2-day training is a replication of the Low Incidence Institute in order for Pennsylvania teachers of students with visual impairments to receive training on the Unified English Braille (UEB) code that will be implemented in the United States on January 4, 2016. An explanation of the changes between UEB and current code will be provided and discussed. On each day, participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice of various UEB examples with discussion to follow. The first day will focus on literary materials while the second day will focus more on technical materials. Example documents transcribed in UEB will be reviewed. Participants will also engage in a discussion regarding the Pennsylvania proposed state implementation plan. Please Note: All participants will need their Perkins Braillewriters and braille paper for this 2-day hands-on training event. |
