Minimum

Highly proficient using adaptive technology if needed. MS Office products and Adobe. Ability to learn various Government systems used to perform contract closeout. Some college in math or business or equivalent work experience. Ability to interpret and analyze information and data; and to comprehend written closeout center standard operating procedures. Sound verbal and written communication skills. Complete Defense Acquisition University Contracting 100 coursework.

Employees in non-classified positions within the Virginia Industries for the Blind are offered a competitive benefits package that includes an annuity-based retirement plan, universal leave, an holiday pay that is paid by VIB, as well as jointly paid benefits such as health and life insurance. VIB is an AbilityOne Program participating agency, affiliated with National Industries for the Blind. As such, VIB is legally required to fill at least 75% of its ‘direct labor’ positions with people who qualify as legally blind. An individual whose central visual acuity does not exceed 20/200 in the better eye with correcting lenses, or whose visual acuity is greater than 20/200 but is accompanied by a limitation in the fields of vision such that the widest diameter of the visual subtends an angle no greater than 20 degrees is considered legally blind. This position is a direct labor role. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, applicants who are legally blind will receive preference if they are otherwise qualified for the role. Upon a conditional offer of employment, those applicants identifying as legally blind will be required to submit a supporting medical report.
