Description of Job
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation helps individuals with disabilities prepare for and secure employment. We help them take their rightful place in the workforce and in the community. This position, as a member of a highly specialized team of professionals, operating within the Personal Adjustment Training Program exists to train individuals who have severe visual and/or other disabilities. This position provides training on computer programs for consumers of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Provides instruction in the use of access technology and computer application programs for personal, educational, and vocational use. This individual will be responsible for conducting individualized interviews with clients to determine the nature and scope of computer training needed to meet client expectations. They will be responsible for formulating instructional plans and providing appropriate instruction to meet the needs of students, including monitoring student performance, satisfaction, progress, and outcomes.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Adult Education, Counseling/Guidance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Two year of professional experience in providing services and education to disabled individuals in assistive technology and ongoing education to include volunteer and internships as part of ongoing professional education and development.
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of a current certification in Orientation and Mobility Specialist and/or Vision Rehabilitation Therapist from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP), or a Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling Certification credential (CRCC)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Behavioral Science, Disability Studies or closely related human services field.
Professional experience working for a state vocational rehabilitation agency.
Professional experience working to assist people with disabilities to achieve successful employment outcomes.
Experience in vocational, career counseling, academic advisement.
Background with Information Technology
Experience with Screen Reading Software/Screen Magnification Software Experience with Blind and Low Vision services
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Applications

Conditions of Employment
As a condition of employment, you must successfully pass a background check (both criminal and unemployment insurance benefit overpayments).
Once COVID related restrictions have lifted, this position can expect to travel 25% of the time in order to meet with individuals served by the program to provide on-site training. This travel will be within the Denver Metro area.
Effective September 20, 2021, employees will be required to attest to and verify that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or, submit to twice-weekly serial testing. Upon hire, new employees will have three (3) business days to provide attestation to their status with proof of vaccination, or begin twice-weekly serial testing for COVID-19.
Testing will take place in-person/at home/TBD and will be considered paid work time.
Note: Fully Vaccinated means two (2) weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series of the COVID-19 vaccine, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two (2) weeks after the single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine, as defined by the State of Colorado’s Public Health Order and guidance issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment.
While a wide salary range is posted for this position, an eventual salary offer is determined by a comprehensive salary analysis, which considers multiple factors including but not limited to education and experience compared to others in the organization doing substantially similar work.
